The state’s appointed government, Sevastopol, on the Russian-annexed Crimea coast, claimed two people, including a two-year-old child, and injured 22 people in a missile attack that Ukraine carried out on Sunday.
Sevastopol, a port town and naval base in the Black Sea that was annexed by Russia in 2014, is frequently under Ukrainian control, but the death toll from Sunday’s invasion was unusually large.
” According to temporary information, today’s assault by Ukraine’s military forces on Sevastopol killed 2 quiet residents, one of them a 2- year- ancient child”, Sevastopol governor Mikhail Razvozhayev wrote on Telegram.
The government claimed that the country had fired five missiles over the ocean that Russian atmosphere defenses intercepted, but the intercepted missiles left people wounded and fragments of debris fell onto the shore.
According to Razvozhayev, the projectile fragments reportedly set fire to a home and a piece of wood in the north of the city as they hit beach locations.
Earlier Sunday, a helicopter launched by Ukraine on Russia’s southern Belgorod area killed a man, the government said.
According to Belgorod government Vyacheslav Gladkov, three Russian attack drones struck the city of Graivoron close to the Ukrainian border, one of which struck a car park close to a multi-story block of apartments.
” A peaceful citizen was killed. The person died from his wounds at the spot”, Gladkov wrote on Telegram, while three were wounded.
