Following the unexpected announcement of an immediate plea deal for Julian Assange’s release, Julian Assange’s parents on Tuesday welcomed the closing stages of his legitimate “ordeal.”
The 52-year-old Asian national was released from jail on Monday in London.
On Wednesday night, native time, he was seen board a flight before his court appearance in the Northern Mariana Islands, a US place in the Pacific, was scheduled for noon.
Assange said he planned to return to Australia.
” I’m happy that my father’s struggle is finally over.” His family, Christine Assange, said in a statement released by American public broadcaster ABC and other local advertising that” shows the value and power of quiet diplomacy.”
” Some have used my son’s situation to drive their own agendas, so I am glad to those unknown, difficult- working people who put Julian’s welfare initial”, she said.
” The previous 14 years have obviously taken a toll on me as a family, but I wish to thank you in advance for respecting my privacy.”
Assange pleaded guilty to a single matter of revealing national defense information in an effort to secure his freedom, according to US legal papers.
Beginning in 2010, Assange was charged with publishing some 700,000 classified records related to US military and diplomatic actions.

His parents, John Shipton, said he was a “little troubled to see whether all that’s in the media is honest” after learning of the dramatic improvements through US press.
According to him,” The look is that Julian will be able to enjoy normal life with his home and his family Stella,” he said in an interview with ABC television.
” It appears as though Julian will be free to return to Australia, and I’m grateful and thank you to all of his Australian followers who helped make that happen, as well as Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.
Albanese has repeatedly called for Assange’s transfer, declaring earlier this year that “enough is much” after the American legislature passed a motion calling for an end to his trial.
Shipton claimed that his brother had experienced the “most effective period of his life.”
” I think it’s hard, more than difficult for me to spend 15 times in one form or another of confinement before ending up in five times in a maximum security jail,” he said.
The method to his father’s liberty was “energising”, he said.
” Gratitude to everyone– it’s amazing”.
Since April 2019, Assange has been detained in the high-security Belmarsh jail in London.
After seven years of imprisoning him at Ecuador’s London embassy, he was accused of sexual assault and was later cleared of any charges.
