An&nbsp, Atlanta- based network sports grill known for wings and twice entendres has closed southwest&nbsp, Arlington&nbsp, and&nbsp, Fort Worth&nbsp, locations that previously faced legal protests when they opened years previously

Hooters&nbsp, shut down franchises at 5821&nbsp, Interstate 20 West, &nbsp, Arlington, and&nbsp, 150 Throckmorton St., &nbsp, Fort Worth, along with&nbsp, more than 40 locations&nbsp, global.

Five other&nbsp, Tarrant County&nbsp, locations&nbsp, of the 40- yr- ancient chain remain available in southwest&nbsp, Fort Worth, north&nbsp, Arlington, &nbsp, North Richland Hills, &nbsp, Grand Prairie&nbsp, and&nbsp, Grapevine.

In a statement to Nation ‘s&nbsp, Restaurant News, the company cited” current market conditions” in closing “underperforming” stores.

The closures come at a time when national restaurant chains are under increased pressure, partly as a result of fresher competition and partly because of customers ‘ concerns about prices, which have even affected fast-food drive-throughs.

Hooters ‘ second place cafe opened in 1989 in downtown&nbsp, Dallas. It featured” cheerleader-style” women servers dressed in the name” Hooters Girls,” which the business called a “beach” theme.

The eateries quickly gained public attention for the then-shocking short outfits, as well as for the risky and cruel themes, jokes, and banners.

Before the southwest&nbsp, Arlington&nbsp, place opened in 2002, a group class, Decency for&nbsp, Arlington, gathered 1, 300 names in opposition.

Tarrant County&nbsp, Judge&nbsp, Tom Vandergriff&nbsp, finally rejected the wine permit application, saying the cafe was very close to local schools and churches.

Up until a state administrative judge overturned the offer in 2007, the restaurant served gratis alcohol. Additionally, the business consented to get rid of some symptoms and goods.

The downtown&nbsp, Fort Worth&nbsp, area also faced legitimate criticism when it opened in 2016. &nbsp, Sundance Square&nbsp, officers and city people said it was too close to the Sundance West rooms.

Hooters ‘ popularity quickly spawned a number of imitation restaurants with scantily clad machines and facile names or designs.

The ring receives poor reviews from customers of the social press site&nbsp, Yelp.com. The highest- rated area in&nbsp, Tarrant County&nbsp, is the north&nbsp, Arlington&nbsp, cafe, scoring 3.0 out of a conceivable 5.

Based on figures quoted by Nation ‘s&nbsp, Restaurant News, the closing of 40 restaurants wold leave the company with about 250 locations, down from 333 in 2018.
