Despite having left- aircraft soldiers like Sen. Bernie Sander ( S- Vc. ) and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio- Cortez ( D. N. Y. ) campaigning , for him,  , Bowman, 48, has become the second Democratic incumbent to gain in this year’s elections. Additionally, he is the first person to be removed from office since the organization was founded following the 2018 elections. He is also the first part of the so-called Squad. However, other Squad people, like Reps. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota and Rashida Tlaib of Michigan, who faced major problems, managed to survive their votes.

Latimer, 70, has been involved in local and state politicians for more than 35 times. He would go on to get chairs in the Westchester County Board of Senators and the New York State Assembly and Senate after winning the 1987 vote for Rye City Council.
Latimer will almost certainly be the next senator from New York’s 16th area, a different area northeast of Manhattan that includes elements of the Bronx and southern Westchester County. As the Democratic nominee, this place is largely unaffected. Joe Biden won the deep- blue district over Donald Trump by nearly 45 percentage points in 2020, according to the , Daily Kos Elections.

Last year, Bowman was  , caught on video setting off a fire alarm in the Cannon House Office Building , in an attempt to delay a House vote on the stopgap resolution to avert a shutdown. Bowman admitted guilt to misdemeanor misdemeanor charges relating to the incident despite his claim that it was an accident. Technically, he violated federal law by obstructing an official proceeding, but , he received only a slap on the wrist. The incident investigation was absurdly ignored by the House Ethics Committee.

However, Bowman’s anti- Israel views ultimately ended his political career. Polls revealed that the race was impacted significantly by Israel-Hamas. Latimer, Bowman’s opponent, strongly supports Israel, while Bowman reacted to the Hamas attack by calling Israel an “apartheid” state, though he later retracted it. Earlier this month, a survey showed 45 % of voters in the district supported Latimer’s stance on the conflict, while 29 % sided with Bowman.  ,
The district is solidly Democrat- leaning, so Latimer will likely be the next U. S. representative in NY- 16. He has frequently been referred to as a moderate Democrat, but who really knows what that term means? That said, Jamaal Bowman wo n’t be missed.
