
Bill Cobbs, a skilled character actor with roughly 200 film and television certificates, has died at age 90.
Cobbs ‘ death was confirmed by his nephew, Thomas G. Cobbs, who wrote on , Twitter:” We are saddened to discuss the departure of Bill Cobbs. On Tuesday, June 25, Bill passed away peacefully at his house in California. A favorite partner, great brother, uncle, substitute parent, godfather and friend, Bill just and gladly celebrated his 90th birthday surrounded by valued loved ones”.
We are comforted as a home by knowing that Bill has found peace and perpetual relaxation with his Heavenly Father. We ask for your blessings and assistance during this time”, the post continued.
TMZ , reported that the cause of demise was asthma.
The Los Angeles Times ‘ request for comment was not responded to by Cobbs ‘ writer on Wednesday.
Bill Cobbs was born June 16, 1934, and raised in Cleveland. He spent eight years in the Air Force, worked for IBM, and sold cars, before relocating to New York at age 36 to undertake acting, according to , IMDb. Before making his feature-length film debut with the 1974 crime drama” The Taking of Pelham One Two Three,” he appeared in a number of tiny television and theater jobs.
Cobbs is known for films including 1997’s” Air Bud” and 1993’s” Destruction Guy” and starred same Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner in 1992’s” The Bodyguard”. He even played Reginald in the” Night at the Museum” pictures, “forming a pair of hostile security guards alongside , Mickey Rooney, who died in 2014, and Dick Van Dyke. In” New Jack City” ( 1991 ), he played the key role of the Old Man.
In 2020, the seasoned professional won a , Daytime Emmy Award , for excellent minimal performance in a nighttime system for his portrayal of Mr. Hendrickson on the series” Dino Dana.”
