Joe Biden, the president for the first time in the last ten years, falsely claimed during CNN’s political debate on Thursday that he was the first to prevent deaths for American soldiers “anywhere in the world.”
Despite 13 defense people being killed during the contentious Afghanistan withdrawal on August 26, 2021, the senator claimed that no U.S. defense people had been killed while he was in office.
Attempting to contrast his presidency with former President Donald Trump, Biden said,” When he was president, there were still killing people in Afghanistan, and he did n’t do anything about that. When he was in office, we also found ourselves in a situation where you assumed that we were the safest nation. The truth is, I’m the only president ]in ] this century, that does n’t have any — this decade — that does n’t have any troops dying anywhere in the world”.
Biden’s false state during Thursday’s national discussion was met with strong criticism from Gold Star households. In an interview with Fox News, Darin Hoover, the Gold Star parents of Staff Sgt. Darin Taylor Hoover, who was killed in Afghanistan during the Biden administration’s fatal removal, said,” I knew Afghanistan was going to come up sooner or later”.
The Gold Star parents added,” You know, the wandering, bumbling idiot that we have in , the White House , had the audacity to say that under his view that no military individuals have died”.

” The rage, the absolute disgust that I got, from hearing him say that– I started yelling back at the TV. Just out of frustration”, Hoover continued. ” He’s not acknowledged, not one time, any of our children. He’s not said their titles. I still take it very seriously that he even knows their brands.
Another Gold Star papa named Mark Schmitz, whose brother Marine Cpl. Jared Schmitz was likewise killed during the government’s withdrawal from Afghanistan, said everyone was in “utter impact” at Biden’s remarks during the political conversation.
Let’s just say that I eventually ended up having to regret to them for my speech, Schmitz told The New York Post.” My poor children were in the second place. It lacked all personal caution to avoid putting my elbow through my TV.
” I was beyond ticked off, disrespected”, Schmitz added. ” That’s all we’ve ever gotten out of this leader”.
