An American American doctors has admitted guilt to paying US national care fraud claims for accounting Medicaid and private insurers for unreliable companies.
Mona Ghosh, owner and operator of Progressive Women’s Healthcare, which specialises in obstetrics and gynecology companies, has pleaded guilty to two matters of medical fraud.
In federal prison, each matter is punished by up to ten years.
US District Judge Franklin U. Valderrama has scheduled the punishment for October 22.
Federal prosecutors allege that Ghosh is to blame for at least$ 2.4 million in fraudulent payouts.
She acknowledged in her plea agreement that she was to blame for more than$ 1.5 million of these fraudulently obtained reimbursements.
The last number may be determined by the court at punishment, a press release said.
” Northern District of Illinois records, from 2018 to 2022, Ghosh submitted, and caused her employees to submit, false claims to Medicaid, TRICARE, and many different insurers for procedures and services that were not provided or were never medically important, some of which were performed without person consent”, the US States Attorney’s office said in a statement.
Her plea deal claims that Ghosh even unlawfully overstated the length and breadth of in-office and healthcare appointments and submitted claims using accounting codes for which the visits did not qualify for higher insurance rates. She acknowledged that she had created fake patient health records to support fraudulent reimbursement claims, the statement continued.
