A report released by the anti-Israel advertising bias guardian HonestReporting alleges that a freelance CNN journalist from Gaza was connected to a Hamas-run organization. According to the report, Abdel Qader Sabbah positively praised extremists while also performing unidentified jobs for the terror group when he photographed senior Hamas leaders online.
The document cites CNN’s multitasking of Sabbah’s work. He has also worked for the Associated Press, and his multitasking casts fear on the network’s journalistic integrity and the Hamas evil team’s connections to it. In addition to the history information published by the outlet, the report raises questions about the internet network’s journalistic norms and vetting procedures.

The media regulator identified proof of Abdel Qader Sabbah’s Hamas affiliation on his private Instagram section, where he identified himself as a freelance journalist, director, and artist.
Throughout his report, Sabbah’s connections himself to top Hamas officials, such as Mahmoud A- Zahar, in a 2018 article. A- Zahar called for “world hegemony with no Zionists”, the statement said.
Sabbah’s picture with A- Zahar included a message referring to him as a professor of writing. In 2023, he boasted about a special task he completed for the Directorate’s club, which MEMRI noted carriages Hamas surveillance systems. The picture was afterwards made available online on the official website of the Hamas-run interior ministry.

The review even noted Sabbah’s Facebook posts praising Hamas terrorists who carried out deadly evil attacks, such as Izz A- Roar Al- Masri, who executed a suicide bombing at a Jerusalem diner in 2001, killing 16 people, including children. Abbas regularly shared anti-Israel views and military aircraft propaganda videos from Hamas. His report also contained information that censored information from the media about Hamas fighters and activities, which revealed strong ties to Hamas members and their racist propaganda.
CNN cut relations with Sabbah after this unsettling marriage was exposed.
Our own journalists have been prohibited from entering Gaza independently during the past nine months because of this independent journalist’s work, according to a CNN official in a speech to HonestReporting. We have carefully examined this content and are confident that it complies with our requirements. Nonetheless, we were not aware of this individual’s traditional cultural posts and understand that they are very unpleasant. In light of this, we will no longer been using his substance going ahead”.

While CNN claims that Sabbah’s information adhered to their requirements, a quick search on CNN uncovers several stories heavily biased against Israel, including a report from June 26, 2024, alleging that Palestinian babies are “dying of hunger in their parents ‘ arms as drought spreads through Gaza,” which largely reads like Hamas advertising.
