According to Kentucky State Police, a Kentucky man was shot and killed at a cannon business when a customer was handling a weapon accidentally.
The shooting happened about 8: 30 p. m. Saturday at a cannon shop in Carroll County, in North Kentucky.
A consumer was “manipulating” a gun for sale when a second round discharged, hitting another person inside the store, according to the preliminary investigation.
Others in the shop quickly began taking vital care.
However, the sufferer was pronounced dead after being taken to the Carroll County Hospital, said state Coroner Brent Stucker.
State police identified the man who died as Chad Wainscott, 50, of Worthville.
The person who was handling the firearm has cooperated with authorities. Foul play is never suspected in the dying, according to state police.
State police said the shooting took place at 1496 White Run Road, but did not specify the location of the gun business in the release.
According to Google Maps, that target corresponds to Humphrey Double H Farms Enterprises’, which advertises weapons for sale.
According to the company’s site, it was shut down on Monday. No one from Humphrey Double H Farms answered the phone on Monday evening or responded to a message a Herald-Leader columnist sent.
