Switzerland’s hospitality organization announced on Thursday that it was attempting to reduce the flow of tourists throughout the year to protect the region from the effects of exodus.
Switzerland Tourism stated that it would make an effort to identify the off-season and market places off the beaten path.
Officials in Zurich stated at a press conference that the company wanted to point visitors to” the appropriate places, at the right time.”
There is” no issue of general over- hospitality in Switzerland”, said the company’s main Martin Nydegger, though there are “temporary and localised bottlenecks, also known to the business”.
After the enormous achievement of the North Korean Netflix line” Crash Landing on You,” Eastern tourists suddenly flocked to the village of Iseltwald in central Switzerland last year.
The village, which has about 400 residents, made the decision to charge a fee of five Swiss francs ($ 5.55 ) for a pontoon trip to capture a romantic scene that was shot.
Nydegger claimed that the Swiss had a normally favorable view of the sector. Just 5 percent of respondents to a study conducted by the company are concerned about hospitality.
” The strength of the Swiss francs is already one military, because it limits access to large tourism”, Damian Constantin, mind of the event of managers of local tourist offices, told AFP.
Along with the strong dollar, the high cost of living even makes Switzerland an expensive destination to visit, more curbing the risk of over- hospitality, he said.
Switzerland’s Tourism nonetheless wants to be proactive in protecting a sector that generates 43 billion francs ($ 48 billion ) a year and 4.5 percent of the country’s GDP, according to Nydegger.
The agency will collaborate with tour operators to provide packages off the beaten path, such as energy bike tours and hiking trails at the lavish winter ski resort of Davos- Klosters, which will be promoted with the assistance of Chinese on-line content creators.
In an effort to extend the summer season, it has also started efforts to promote tourism in the fall.
The organization stated that the diversity of Switzerland is highlighted worldwide to enable visitors to” spread out much, engage themselves more, and be more.”
