CNN conversation moderators , asked , Trump if he found Putin’s harmony offer that allows Russia to keep the country it has captured, to which Trump first answered that he would’ve avoided the issue completely had he remained in the White House after the 2020 vote. Trump further claimed that Biden’s management of the U.S. departure from Afghanistan gave Putin the motivation to invade Ukraine. Trump was questioned by the CNN administrators again about whether Putin’s peace arrangements were satisfactory.
” No, they’re not satisfactory. No, they’re never acceptable”, Trump replied. ” But appearance, this is a battle that always should’ve started”.
Biden claimed that Putin is ready to resurrect the” Russian Kingdom” in response to Trump’s comments.
” He wants all of Ukraine. That’s what he wants. And then do you assume he’ll stop it? Do you think he’ll quit when he – if he takes Ukraine? What do you believe will happen to Poland? What do you think of Belarus? What do you think happens to those NATO nations”? Biden said.
Belarus has maintained friendly relations with Russia throughout the existing conflict despite not being a NATO member. Putin has denied that he intends to enter a direct issue with a NATO member country beyond Ukraine. A collective defense pact is embodied in Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty, which allows for an attack on a NATO member to elicit a strong defense response from the entire alliance.
