A significant shark attack occurred while a Texas beach beach was hosting Fourth of July celebrations, according to a viral video. Four athletes are thought to have been attacked by the fish at South Padre Island.
Following the attacks on Thursday, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department said in a statement that” Texas Game Wardens, the Texas Department of Public Safety ( DPS), the South Padre Island Police Department ( SPI PD), and Cameron County Park Rangers responded to reports of people being bitten by a shark at South Padre Island, within city limits.”
Officials from Texas ‘ parks and wildlife said the shark bit two people, and that they “encountered the fish but were not really hurt.” The two struck victims were taken to Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville, where one is currently receiving treatment, and the other has been flown out for further treatment, according to authorities.

One of the victims of Thursday’s incident was reportedly a woman who lost a portion of her leg after being bitten by the fish, according to The New York Post. The missing portion of the defendant’s leg is seen in vivid images of the shark attack as the victim is sat in a pool of blood.
The person is reportedly being helped by good Samaritans as the fish continued to stem the beach, according to a video of the fish attack’s aftermath. The woman is being helped by a wooden tourniquet being applied below her knee in the video.
A press release by Cameron County described Thursday’s fish problems as “abnormal and unparalleled”.
The fish finally left the deep waters, according to The New York Post. Officials are still using satellite technology to monitor the shore even though they have n’t made any plans to undertake the shark.
According to Texas Parks and Wildlife officers,” Shark encounters of this character are not a common phenomenon in Texas.” When fish bite,” they are typically caused by predators looking for food mistakenly,” says the expert.
When a fish is discovered in the water, Texas officials advised the public to” calmly leave the water” and help a large area of predatory animals to pass by. Additionally, officials noted that big bait schools close to the shore could serve as a good indication of a monster in the water.
