Robert Fico, the nationalist prime minister of Slovakia, returned home on Monday after a murder attempt on his first trip outside the money.
Fico visited a land in Slovenska Nova Ves, north of the investment of Bratislava, along with crops minister Richard Takač to examine the grain harvest.
In a quick speech, Fico thanked landowners for their hard work and stated that Slovakia was not ready to lift the import restrictions on Ukrainian agricultural goods.
He did not ask any questions of the internet while using a running stick.
His first official visit outside the capital since recovering from the May 15 attack, in which he was shot in the abdomen as he waved supporters in the town of Handlova, which is 140 kilometers ( 85 miles ) northeast of the capital.
Fico made his first open appearance since the attempted assassination on Friday by speaking during a vacation getaway.
He has long been a controversial number in Slovakia and elsewhere. He won parliamentary elections last year and won a third time before coming to power with his communist group Smer, or Direction, campaigning both for and against the United States.
His detractors worry that Slovakia might leave its pro-West mindset and following Hungary’s lead under Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
In the capital and throughout Slovakia, countless people have staged demonstrations to rally Fico’s policies.
