A smaller party of swing-district Democrats held a pow-wow that was apparently marked by grief and apparent anguish simply before House Democrats convened for their Tuesday night meeting on President Biden’s potential.
One of the few remaining heartlands of a once-united press on Capitol Hill to reduce Biden from the seat was the party. According to Forbes, that activity is “rapidly disintegrating” . ,
Why it matters: House Democrats ‘ union is one of the last strongholds of a fast deflating action on Capitol Hill to remove Biden from the seat.  ,
- One shell-shocked lawmaker who was present at the meeting would offer only one word to characterize it:” Intense” . ,
- Another described the feeling as “pretty many unanimous” that Biden has “got to move over”, adding,” There were real tears from people, and not for Biden”.
Democrats ‘ full caucus meeting was much less polarized, with members voicing concerns about Biden’s ability to challenge former president Trump, according to Forbes.  ,
- One House Democrat who attended both sessions said,” Most of our congress is still with him, which means he’ll be in.” Which sucks for our country” . ,
- Numerous House Democrats who have formerly expressed concerns about Biden said they are now with him after entering and leaving the appointment, noting that “whether or not I have problems is up to the point.” He is going to be our candidate, and we all have to help him”, said Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-N. Y. ).  ,

House and Senate Democrats gave Biden a considerable amount of support on Monday, including a welcoming call with his most steadfast friends on the Hill, members of the Congressional Black Caucus. Also receptive House Democrats acknowledged by Monday night that Biden appeared to be winning the conference. One House Democrat who is “deeply wary of Biden” told Axios that people of their party were “folding all over the place” and were “becoming resigned to Biden holding all the cards around, and us having no genuine say in the matter.”
” As someone who wanted the judgment and is really disappointed that it’s over, confidence me: it’s over”, the Democrat added.

Biden’s notice to House Democrats, which was sent on Monday, is cited as a driving issue. Biden urged an end to the conversations over removal and stated his commitment to staying in the competition in the email. He even went so far as to ask any Democrats who believe they ca n’t win to run for him at the Democratic National Convention, which will take place in Chicago the following month.

” He clearly did a preemptive effort to try to discourage any questions … with his letter”, Rep. Lloyd Doggett (D-Texas ) told Politico.  ,
” I think there is a pretty strong consensus we need to close ranks”, said Rep. Jared Huffman (D-Calif. )
” When there’s this kind of show of force, it’s hard to imagine people are going to speak up against him”, another House Democrat said.  ,
