Zelenskyy returns to Washington, to say thanks, build relationships

On Wednesday, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the president of Ukraine, will meet with US lawmakers to pounce on future assistance, and express gratitude to them for the$ 175 billion that has already been approved since Russia’s invasion in February 2022.
Zelenskyy, who is in Washington for this week’s Nato mountain, is expected to meet with the rulers of the Senate and House of Representatives and some of the boards involved in security, spending, politics and national protection.
Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Mark Warner told Reuters,” We’ve got to stand by Ukraine,” and it’s an very important mission.
The visit comes amid heavy uncertainty about this year’s US national vote, which pits incumbent Democrat Joe Biden, a strong supporter of assistance to Ukraine, against former Republican President Donald Trump, who has expressed suspicion.
Due to his inconsistent performance in the June 27 debate against Trump and small public support, Biden’s ability to reclaim his position or maintain his tough job for another 4-1/2 years has piqued new questions.
A number of congressional Democrats have urged Biden to step down and allow another participant to face Trump.
If Trump wins the Nov. 5 poll, he will be able to stop Russia’s war in Ukraine by telling Kyiv it will only receive more US arms if it enters peace deals, according to a Reuters report from next month.
In Congress, lots of Trump’s closest friends have voted regularly against assisting Zelenskyy’s state, although Democrats and more globally focused Republicans have worked up to review the$ 175 billion in aid.
    Additional guidance in question
In April, Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson, a close ally of Trump, made a change of heart and gave the House the authority to voting on and approve$ 61 billion in aid for Ukraine.
When Zelenskyy next addressed to Congress in December, Johnson stated that he would not back Biden’s request for additional revenue.
The House approved the additional spending package by 311 to 112, with the “no” seats coming from traditional Republicans who are strongly associated with Trump. If Trump’s group wins control of the White House, Senate, and House in November, it may never review additional funding for Ukraine.
But, as Johnson stated in his first significant nationwide security address this year, British voters have voted in favor of the support as he traveled around the nation. He also stated that Russia poses a threat to people outside of Ukraine.
Vladimir Putin, the president of Russia, did not halt if he took Kyiv, persons now understand. He’s a brutal despot in my view”, Johnson said.
