
Of the 29 Po Members who have so far sworn in the new British Parliament, five, including past home minister Priit Patel, have chosen to obfuscate the Holy Bible, three have chosen the Bhagavad Gita, and one has chosen the Sundar Gutka.
Seven PIO MPs, including two Punjabi-origin Members, and seven Sikh Labour MPs, who stated they wanted to bet swear to God but did so without holding the Sundar Gutka, both chose to recognize and to not.
Jasveer Singh, spokespersonfor the Sikh Press Association, said:” It is against the Sikh devotion to pray on our gospel in this way. Additionally, we do n’t consider Guru Granth Sahib Ji to be a book. It is the author of our script. The Gutka is a simplified mini-compilation of the Sikh gospel”.
Bob Blackman MP, a Tory MP who recently won the title of Harrow East, which has a significant Indian community, and who was honored with the Padma Shri, swore in on the King James Bible and the Bhagavad Gita at the same time.

On the Bhagavad Gita, criticism chief Rishi Sunak and Labour MP Kanishka Narayan, both of whom are from Bihar, took the oath of office.
New Conservative MP Neil Shashti-Hunt and fresh Labour MPs Jeevun Sandher, Sonia Kumar, and Sureena Brackenridge, all chose to affirm and never take the oath, as did re-elected Members Traditional Gagan Mohindra and Labour’s Seema Malhotra, and society director Lisa Nandy.
Another seven Labour Sikh MPs refused to hold the Sikh language, otherwise raising their straight and swearing the oath, and Labour Sikh MP Preet Kaur Gill took the oath. Jas Athwal, a freshly elected Ilford South Labour MP, said,” I do have a preferred guide, but I am not going to keep it. I’ll just start by raising my hands. When Tanmanjeet Singh Dhesi did this, it actually perplexed the House of Commons members because they believed he intended to make the assurance. Without a guide or raising his hand, Derby South Labour MP Baggy Shanker took the oath without a guide. Gurinder Singh Josan, Kirith Entwistle, Harpreet Uppal, Satvir Kaur, and Warinder Singh Juss, all labor-sikh Members, swore the oath without a holy book while holding their right arms raised.
Tory Witham MP Priit Patel, dark energy minister Claire Coutinho, and Munira Wilson, Twickenham Liberal Democrat MP, took vows on the King James Bible. The second Kerala-origin MP in the House of Commons, Sojan Joseph, swore on an oath on the New Testament. Labour MP Valerie Vaz, even of Goan Christian origin, swore on the Jerusalem Bible.
