Elon Musk, the billionaire known for his increasing criticism of President Joe Biden, has made a substantial donation to political group working to elect Biden’s rival in the upcoming presidential election Donald Trump, according to a Bloomberg report. The exact amount of the donation was not disclosed, but it was described as “a sizable amount.” The political group America PAC is required to reveal its list of donors on July 15.
In March, Trump, who is expected to be officially nominated as the Republican Party’s candidate for the November 5 vote, had a conference with Musk and other powerful sponsors.
Following reviews of the gathering, Musk posted on X,” Just to be very clear, I am no donating money to either member for US President”. He also refuted media reports that suggested he had discussed a possible advisory role for a upcoming Trump presidency in May.
Musk, the richest person in the world and the owner of a number of businesses, has recently more explicitly endorsed the Republican Party. Because Tesla is his main source of wealth, this has had an affect on his popularity and sales.
Next month, Trump reiterated his responsibility to immediately leave the Biden administration’s “mandate” to assist the electric vehicle industry. However, he added,” I’m a huge supporter of electric vehicles. I’m a fan of Elon”. Trump added that Musk “does an amazing career with Tesla.”
Musk mentioned that they had” some conversations” and that Trump is a “huge supporter of the Cybertrucks”, referring to Tesla’s electric pickup trucks. Although Musk has officially criticised Biden’s policies on emigration, electric cars, and even his years, he has never made any official support for the November election. Trump has also said that he is unsure if he has Musk’s help.
Musk has even defended antisemitism in remarks made on X, despite his own denial of it. A CivicScience poll conducted by Reuters showed that Musk’s opinions have had a negative impact on his standing with some customers.
