What One Left-Leaning Site Is Worried About Post-Trump Assassination Attempt Will Sicken You

A well-known left-wing site called The Intercept appears to be very worried that Donald Trump’s failed assassination attempt may increase his popularity in a beautiful display of ill priorities.

” The level of any injuries sustained by Trump remain unclear, a campaign spokesperson issued a statement saying the former president ‘ is good and is being checked out at a local physician facility,'” Murtaza Hussain, a reporter for the outlet, reported, before adding:” It is unclear how the incident might change his campaign, but given traditional precedent, his popularity is likely to advantage”.

The article’s author next laments that “assassination efforts targeting nationalist leaders have had a track record in the past of boosting their common appeal.”

Previous Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan saw assistance for his party increase as the government began to see him as a single number battling a corrupt establishment in the weeks after he was shot in the foot at a political rally.

Brazilian bodybuilder Jair Bolsonaro was fatally shot at an event in 2018 before winning elections with the help of electors who believed he had survived an attempted murder by their intellectual foes.

After an intended death, President Ronald Reagan also benefited from public support and sympathy, which helped him pass a number of controversial economic guidelines that would identify the nation for many years to come. &nbsp,

According to Shah, there have recently been more social assassinations, with both successful and unsuccessful attempts to kill officials both domestically and internationally. The national security release War on the Rocks attributed the potential rise in attacks to “accelerationists” who were attempting to stoke interpersonal conflict by weakening democratic institutions after the killing of past Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in 2022.

    He continues:

An image of a blood-streaked Trump raising his palm to the group started becoming popular on social media after the apparent shooting at his campaign rally, especially among backers who praised his defiance. The world awaits more information on Trump’s situation and what specifically took place in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday. It will also be watching what this time means for Trump’s recognition and the 2024 election.

Similar views were expressed by Hussain on social media.

Imran Khan was shot and wounded in a corporeal fight with members of the security establishment at a campaign march. His later defiance definitely boosted his popularity.

Though I know what you want about Trump, he will have the most wonderful Wikipedia section in past.

Democrats are debating whether Donald Trump’s main issue is whether their political member would be blown across the ocean by a strong breeze, which is narrative-wise.

    — Murtaza Hussain ( @MazMHussain ) July 14, 2024

It’s difficult to separate the social ramifications of the assassination attempt from the event, but it seems blatantly unsuitable for a left-wing website to be focused on how Trump may benefit politically from the assassination attempt.
