She praised him as” the best dad a girl could ever ask for,” citing his selfless character and willingness to lend a hand to others.
Governor Josh Shapiro of Pennsylvania announced that in his honor Comperatore’s memory, state flags may be lowered to half-staff. Shapiro even expressed his delight at the rally’s presence and that he was a strong supporter of the former president.
The other survivors of the shooting were identified as David Dutch, 57, and James Copenhaver, 74, both from Pennsylvania and reported to be in stable state.
The shooter, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks from outside Bethel Park, was killed by a Secret Service shooter. By Sunday evening, a GoFundMe page set up to raise money for the Comperatore family had raised nearly$ 600,000.
Comperatore and his family, who both enjoyed fish and performed in voluntary firefighting roles, were present at the rally amid a sizable crowd of Trump supporters. Comperatore generously guarded his household members before the gunman opened fire from a local top, sacrificing finally his career.

Emergency room doctors Dr. James Sweetland rushed to Comperatore after he was shot at the march. Cooperatoare was discovered lying in a pool of blood, and Sweetland helped him by lowering him onto a chair to accomplish CPR. Another man applied stress to Comperatore’s scar above his hearing, but Sweetland could not find a pulse. Two Pennsylvania State soldiers assisted in putting Comperatore on a bed.

The victim’s gunman fired from an elevated location outside the safety perimeter, according to law enforcement officials, who reported the shooting. The suspected shooter, identified by the FBI as Thomas Matthew Crooks of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, was killed by Secret Service agents.
