Moscow’s Kremlin stated on Tuesday that Russia must first be aware of Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s meaning when he uses the phrase “peace mountain” before accepting any invitations for discussions.
Following high-level discussions next fortnight in Switzerland that Moscow did not attend, Zelenskyy said on Monday that Russia may be represented at a second conference on the Ukraine conflict.
” The second peace conference was not at all a peace mountain.” So perhaps it is important to first understand what he means”, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told the Zvezda media outlet, responding to Zelenskyy’s responses.
Zelenskyy’s apparent willingness to host Russia for talks is a departure from his previous conference in Switzerland, which the Ukrainian leader absolutely ruled out of the invitation.
More than 90 state leaders gathered at a European mountain beach on June 15 for a two-day summit to resolve the biggest Western fight since World War II.
China and Russia were excluded.
The Kremlin harshly criticized the meeting, claiming any discussions involving ending the conflict that did n’t include Russia were “absurd.”
