Numerous academics have made vehement notes about the assassination attempt on former president Donald Trump, drawing censure and, in some cases, outcomes for their comment.
One professor from USC had his column deleted within 24 hours of the Saturday incident when Forbes removed it after he suggested Trump would use his” surviving gunfire” story to appeal to black voters. Another professor from the University of British Columbia deactivated her profile on X after receiving criticism for posting” Damn, so close.” To bad”.
More stories about another set of faculty in warm water appeared on Monday.
Bellarmine University suspended instructor John James, who teaches English, after he posted on Instagram:” If you’re gonna shoot, man, do n’t miss”, and included a screenshot of an article on the assassination attempt, the Courier Journal reported.

In a speech to the magazine, a school spokesperson said:
Words and deeds that justify violence are unethical and contrary to our ideals, which require respect for the dignity and intrinsic value of each person. We work to create a welcoming area that welcomes all and fosters a spirit of goodwill among all. We are aware of a rude and inappropriate social media post made by a worker over the weekend. That person has been given an paid leave of absence.
