Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough claimed that MSNBC executives had misled him about why they would n’t air his show on Monday, and he threatened to quit if the network repeated this.
Scarborough, during his show’s returning to the system on Tuesday, told his market,” Let me just say: next day we’re told there’s going to be a media feed replacing us, we will be in our chair”, he said. ” We’ll be the host of the news feed, or they can hire someone else to do it.”
” We were very surprised. We were very disappointed”, said Scarborough.
MSNBC , pulled ,” Morning Joe” from regular programming , on Monday following an assassination attempt on former President Trump two days prior. Network executives reportedly suspended the program to stop on-air guests from making potentially offensive remarks that could harm both the show and the network.
According to CNN’s Oliver Darcy ,” The show was pulled to stop its dozens of guests from making inappropriate comments while they were on air that could cast the show and network in a negative light.”
Scarborough claimed he and Mika Brzezinski had been misled and blindsided. We were informed on Sunday night in no uncertain terms that one news feed would be available for all NBC news channels yesterday,” according to Scarborough. ” That did not happen”.
Brzezinski, who is Scarborough’s wife, expressed her disappointment and confusion about MSNBC’s decision, saying their show is where people can have “hard conversations in a civil way”.
The pair have become among Biden’s most vocal supporters in the news media while vehemently opposing Trump, calling him a “dictator” and comparing him to , Hitler. The hosts and their guests take turns attacking the former president, which is considered to be a multi-hour anti-Trump fest.
Earlier this year, Axios , reported , that President Joe Biden has an “obsession” with” Morning Joe”. The sitting president and Scarborough frequently call him for his guidance on a variety of issues, maintaining a close relationship. ” Morning Joe” was the , first , program Biden called in to for an extended, and at times awkward, phone interview following his widely panned performance at the presidential debate last month.
