Alexis Ohanian, the investor husband of sport great Serena Williams, has revealed he unexpectedly contracted Lyme disease.
The 41-year-old Reddit co-founder shared the information in a health update on cultural media Tuesday.
” Doing a complete power of health images, testing, etc, and found out I have Lyme disease”, he , wrote on X. ” Wild. No symptoms, sadly, but gonna handle. Very little good lipid is there. Poor cholesterol is just OK. Gotta labor on that”.
” I’ve got a loved one who had it a few years back, showed tons ]of] symptoms etc and just could n’t figure it out until they tested him for it”, Ohanian added. ” I spend so little time in the wilderness/northeast this was quite a wonder”.
Borrelia burgdorferi, a bacteria that is transmitted to people through the bite of infected blacklegged fleas, is the cause of Lyme disease, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. It appears to be , more widespread in the northeast , than in other parts of the country.
Symptoms may include a body rash, fever, headaches, and stress. Left untreated, Lyme disease can lead to physical immobility, an irregular heartbeat and rheumatism.
Across the country, approximately , 476, 000 persons may be diagnosed and treated for Lyme disease , each month.

” Anyway, gonna grab some antibiotics — ca n’t keep me down, tick”! concluded Ohanian, who shares two sons with Williams.
