Sergeant. William Pekrul, a , 98-year-old World War II veteran who survived D-Day , and the Battle of the Bulge, gave a moving talk at the Republican National Convention on Wednesday, telling the audience that if former President Donald Trump was the commander in chief afterwards, he had “reenlist today”.
When Pekrul said, “back in commander in chief, I may go back to characterised today,” he received a standing ovation from the crowd at the Republican National Convention on Wednesday.
The World War II former continued,” I did surprise any shore my country needs me to.”
Pekrul shared his experience of fighting in Europe and witnessing” the dread of the Nazi’s war shelters” during a speech on Wednesday. The World War II former claimed that he and other members of the military “gave thanks to divine God for rescuing us from evil” at the conclusion of the conflict.
Pekrul said,” For those of us who are around, America is also worth fighting for,” despite the fact that not many of his fellow soldiers were still alive nowadays.

Pekrul criticized the current administration as well as expressing his excitement for Trump’s possible returning to the White House.
” It hurts my heart to see what our present president and vice president have done for the country I love so much,” Pekrul said. ” They humiliated us in Afghanistan, we]are ] pushed around in China, terrorists run wild in the Middle East, and they let our own southern border get overrun”.
Pekrul fought alongside the 29th Infantry during World War II as part of the next wave of troops stationed during the Allied invasion of Normandy, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. For his support to the United States, the 98-year-old veteran received two Iron Stars and two Silver Stars.
Pekrul, who claimed to be honored to be a member of the “greatest century” of Americans, was hailed as the Grand Marshall of the Milwaukee Veterans Day rally in 2019 according to The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
