Last year, Thomas Matthew Crooks attempted to assassinate former US president Donald Trump without success at a rally in Pennsylvania. Several reports have presently emerged suggesting that the gunman’s parents called the police before the event because he was concerned about his son’s locations.
The details of the discussion remain unclear, but Crooks ‘ families, Mary and Matthew, had informed soldiers of their concerns and their father’s sudden disappearance, Fox News reported.
Researchers are still working to determine the 20-year-old shooter’s goal. According to some media reports, he admitted to conducting online searches related to the future Democratic National Convention and major depressive disorders. Additionally, he had saved pictures of a member of the British Royal Family and a number of social images.
Prior to the assault, a counter-sniper had alerted the US Secret Service about a suspicious person using a prism, about 20 days before the killing began. About an hour prior to the incident, local authorities had first spotted the assailant acting strangely and carrying a handbag, but they had lost sight of him in the masses.
Officials searched the location where Crooks had positioned his rifle on a balcony. One commander, hoisted onto the ceiling by a partner, encountered the believe, who pointed a shotgun at him. The officer, finding himself in a “defenceless” place, let go of the ceiling and fell to the ground, alerting others to the shooter’s appearance. Moments later, the killing started.
Researchers are looking into a number of ideas as to how Crooks managed to arrive at the scene without being noticed. In order to understand the sequence of events better, they are focusing on following his footsteps in the days leading up to the invasion. According to authorities, Crooks ‘ papa had legally purchased the semi-automatic weapons used by the shooter in 2013.
When the assailant was found, he was carrying a distant dynamite, and his vehicle contained bombs, according to law enforcement sources. No clear-cut link exists between the attack’s motivation and any political philosophy that has been established so far, despite the ongoing investigation.
