The person who attempted to assassinate former US President Donald Trump had a history of abusing his high school days. Thomas Matthew Crooks had a record of verbal abuse. Five decades prior to the attempted death, Crooks reportedly threatened to” take up” Bethel Park High School, which reportedly caused many students to stay at home out of fear. School administrators apparently dismissed the affair at the time despite the threat’s severity, according to a NYP report.
Previous classmates claimed that Crooks and his friend party had posted anonymous threats to the school system system, implying that bombs had been positioned in the restaurant bathrooms, and that Crooks and his friend party had warned students against attending the following day. While the risks were immediately traced back to Crooks, they were not taken seriously by the university administration.
As part of their exploration into Crooks, the FBI is presently looking into these glossed-over threats, particularly given how similar the high class threat and the latest attack at the Trump campaign rally are.
During his high school years, Crooks reportedly received constant abuse from his contemporaries, who described him as a recluse and called him” the school gunman.” Additionally, he was prohibited from enlisting in recreational cultural organizations like the school’s rifle team. According to criminal psychologist Dr. John Cencich, Crooks ‘ decision to fire himself at the Pennsylvania rally may have been influenced by the constant tormenting and loneliness.
In a conversation with Cencich with WXPI, Cencich claimed that Crooks ‘ experience correspond to the “pathway to violence” that threat assessment cases frequently depict. The shooter’s noted challenges with major depressive disorder, daily abuse, social isolation, and refusal from the rifle group may have had a damaging impact on him. Crooks does have harbored hatred toward his former abusers despite having been admitted to institutions for the fall semester and having been out of high school for two years.
In order to show his skills to his colleagues, Crooks apparently practiced his killing skills on a prominent figure in the months leading up to the invasion. While researchers continue to look for a reason through the use of Crooks ‘ telephones and other products, they have discovered that he had studied the actions of both original President Trump and President Biden prior to the killing.
