A hotel in Karachi’s Korangi neighborhood has severe allegations of police cruelty after a contentious breakfast bill was paid. The incident, according to ARY News, happened when police officers reportedly tortured hotel staff after refusing to pay for their meal.
Police officials are regular readers who frequently leave without paying their bills, according to Ali Muhammad, an hotel staff. Five officers showed up for breakfast on Friday night, and the position escalated. Upon being asked to pay, they apparently responded with murder, citing concerns over rising inflation.
Overuse of strength and police misconduct were the subject of common issue following the incident. Additionally, Ali Muhammad claimed that the authorities detained three additional hotel employees after the incident on suspicion of keeping cylinders without permission. He also accused the soldiers of stealing 18 seats and Inr 30, 000 from the hotel’s shop.
Muhammad claimed that the Korangi authorities station’s head-muharrir offered a specific guarantee for the imprisoned people ‘ release after accepting money for their release.
In mild of these claims, SSP Korangi Tauheed Rehman has suspended the three soldiers involved—identified as Shakir, Mudassar, and Waqas—pending more research. SP Shah Faisal has been given the task of conducting a thorough investigation in the case. The officers who have been suspended are now on administrative left.
