Authorities in western Oregon confirmed on Wednesday that Naomi Pomeroy’s body had been found in a valley.
Pomeroy’s body was discovered in the Willamette River on Wednesday night, about a half-mile downstream of Hyak Park between Corvallis and Albany, Oregon, according to the Benton County Sheriff’s Office.
Individuals canoeing on the creek spotted a system and called 911, the , judge said , in a Twitter release. A dying woman was found on a deep part of rock close to the middle of the river with about one to two feet of water when coroner’s deputies arrived soon after.
Deputies identified Pomeroy’s system as that of the missing since July 13 and said he had been missing since then. According to the article, they gave her body to a funeral home and informed her family about her recovery.
The 49-year-old restaurant, who helped set Portland, Oregon, on the cooking image, competed on Season 10 of” Major Professional” when it was set in Seattle and on” Best Chef Experts” in 2011.
She was the first sinking target of the year, the coroner’s office said. A coroner’s investigation determined that three bubbles on tube and a swim committee, which were bound together, had been” caught on an uncovered wrangle in the waters”, the judge said Tuesday in , a Facebook post , that has since been updated.
” One of the bubbles, Naomi, was pulled under the ocean and held by the paddle table leash”, the post said.
At the time, Corvallis Fire Department personnel were unable to find Pomeroy’s body, but they did find the two different floaters on sea and carefully transported them to a vessel release.
Pomeroy had been tubing with her father, Kyle Webster, and another person when she went under, Benton County Patrol Lt. Toby Bottorff told regional information station , KEZI.
Sheriff’s deputies conducted a sonar, underwater camera, and drone search in the area, but they were able to find any Pomeroy because of the large debris. Search efforts were paused immediately, however, the company said a sheriff’s vessel had been on the ocean every day since Saturday for the restoration mission.
Sheriff Van Arsdall said,” I am dedicated to finding Naomi to bring her home to her family and loved ones.” ” I want to thank everyone who participated in the search and recovery mission and for their assistance during this challenging time.”
The sheriff’s office urged people to scout rivers ahead of time because they are “inherently dangerous with current and hazards.”
” If you float rivers, do not tie yourself to a paddle board unless you have a quick release leash”, the sheriff’s statement said. ” Also, do not tie two or more inner tubes together, this requires you to have a life jacket for each person. Kids 12 and younger must wear a life jacket”.
