‘ Electability ‘ problems stem from sexist, sexist sights one doctor says

A few professors agree that Vice President Kamala Harris ‘ campaign against President Donald Trump in November will have to overcome both “racism” and” sexism.”

According to Professor Martha Johnson, “research consistently reveals discrimination and prejudice in British politics, both explicitly and implicitly and more subtly, such as in media coverage.”

The state professor at Northeastern University stated that “women of colour are frequently the most targeted by misogynistic and racist prejudices and attacks.”

She pointed out that Hillary Clinton likewise experienced discrimination issues when her 2016 presidential campaign failed.

The Center for American Women and Politics, a research scientist at Rutgers University, agreed that Harris will need to eradicate racism and sexism. In truth, even discussing one’s “electability” as a problem stems from bigoted and misogynistic ideas, Professor Kelly Dittmar says.

” When we have these conversations about electability, so much of it is only reinforcing, however, the original and intentional prejudices of these social establishments”, Dittmar said.

” We have to be really vigilant about assuming that just looking at the history, that it’s somehow an honest history, when we know that the gates to becoming a prospect are very much influenced by these norms, perceptions, and expectations of’ appropriateness’ and ‘ fitness,'” the scholar told The 19th.

Rassismul and discrimination are both concerns, according to her Rutgers stare.

” As a former prosecutor, some believe Harris also would not be intimidated by Trump, which had come with its own backlash”, USA TODAY reported.

” As a person and as a woman of color, how intense can she be before folks start having the effect that she’s also aggressive”, Debbie Walsh, the director of Rutgers ‘ people and politicians center, told the publication.

Is the cliche” the unhappy Black woman will get thrown at her”? Walsh asked.

” While racist and sexist attacks are n’t new, Walsh is among those who expect them to ratchet up if Harris runs for president, alongside persistent questioning about ability and qualifications”, USA TODAY reported.

” We are never post-racism. We are no post-sexism. We’re also that”.
