A member of the National Pan-Hellenic Council, Zeta Phi Alpha is a generally African American college founded in 1920 at Howard University.

Harris is hardly a girl of Zeta Phi Omega, but she did vow to Alpha Kappa Alpha, another previously black college, during her period as a pupil at Howard University.
