Before President Joe Biden delivered his first speech from the Oval Office on Thursday, US and Canadian aircraft intercepted Russian and Chinese martial aircraft in the country’s global airport close to Alaska.
The significant military engagement off the coast of Alaska was reported by the North American Aerospace Defense Command ( NORAD ).
On July 24, NORAD intercepted two Russian Tu-95″ Grizzly” aircraft and two Chinese H-6 aircraft operating within the Alaska ADIZ.
In order to give extra time for responding to angry actions, the area serves as a perimeter around which air traffic is monitored beyond the federal airspace.
NORAD confirmed in a media release that its fighter jets from both the US and Canada were in the air to monitor and catch the plane.
The organization noted that the Russian and Chinese planes remained in international airport throughout the event without obstructing American or American aircraft.
In the area, intercepts of Russian aircraft are a frequent occurrence, with US or Canadian aviation contacting them either visually or online.
