Kamala Harris: Fighting the ‘Wimp Factor’

The same day that President Biden pledged to “pass the torch”, pro-Hamas extremists torched D. C. and vandalized its landmarks. However, Vice President Kamala Harris, the one who took the flame, denies any any association to the protesters. ” I condemn any persons who associate with the terrible criminal organization Hamas, which has vowed to destroy the State of Israel and murder Jews,” Harris said. We had never tolerate pro-Hamas rhetoric and graffiti in our country.

Well, she did n’t actually say-say it, in the sense that those words never left her lips. Instead, it was just a ( very nice ) statement released by her office. Harris was n’t there to physically say it because she was n’t in Washington, D. C. The VP skipped Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu’s congressional address to visit Indianapolis, prioritizing a campaign speech to Zeta Phi Beta, an African American sorority.

However, it was a beautiful sentiment. &nbsp,

But when she returned to D. C., it was n’t those words that left her lips, it was these:” What has happened in Gaza over the past nine months is devastating. In the face of these traumas, we may look ahead. We don’t permit ourselves to be cold to the suffering, and I will not be passive. …Let’s find the package done so we can get a cease-fire to end the war. Let’s take the hostages house, and this provide much-needed alleviation to the Israeli people”.

    Tonally, there’s a noticeable change.

But substantively, there’s not much meat on the bone: Boilerplate platitudes and vague, aspirational, long-term objectives do n’t really tell a voter what a Harris presidency would do in the Middle East. It’s clear persuasive energy. Okay, she’s anti-Hamas – and bravo for that ( clap-clap )– but what does the rest of it mean?

We can definitely determine bits of it, of course: 2024 is an election time, and Kamala Harris is, among other things, a lawmaker seeking business. She has a vested interest in placating that area because a large portion of her base is considerably more friendly to the Palestinians than the Israelis. ( Hey, there’s a party to consolidate and a nomination to win! )

The escalating anti-Israel and anti-Jew sentiment in the Democratic Party is n’t only obvious to Republicans – it’s caught the attention of wealthy, left-leaning Jewish voters. After the widespread abuse of Jews on university campuses and the proliferating of nasty, repugnant anti-Semitic sloganeering at progressive gatherings, many of the same scions who gladly checked checks for almost any left-wing trigger have instantly closed their checkbooks. And so, if you’re a Democratic candidate with national aspirations, you must either side with your young activist base, which loathes Israel ( and is deeply suspicious of Jewish dual-loyalty ), or your older donor base, which is still pro-Israel and fears domestic terrorist attacks on Jewish people and institutions.

Joe Biden used a strategy to support the pro-Hamas left and sway Bibi ad nauseam while primarily staking a conventional Democrat claim to the Middle East. It did n’t leave either side very happy, but it did n’t totally alienate anyone, either, other than the most extreme 10 %.

Kamala Harris’s approach, however, is a perfect unknown.

One of the evil presidency’s flaws is how subservient it is to the presidency. The company was n’t “worth a bucket of warm spit,” according to Vice President John Garner. ( Well, actually, he did n’t say spit – in his original quote, he referred to, ahem, a different bodily fluid. Eventually, historians improved his offer. It has the characteristics of strength and proximity to those who are really in charge, but it also has a degrading quality. The Executive Branch’s Ed McMahon is your apprentice, the next banana.

It’s a great job for those who are unfettered by genital courage because they no longer are a leader but rather a disciple. You’re the bird on the pilot’s head, repeating whatever he says and going wherever he goes.

Which makes people think you’re a coward.

It seems absolutely inexplicable, but President George H. W. Bush – one of the youngest warrior pilots in World War II and a bona fide warrior of the Pacific Campaign – was accused of being a coward when he ran against that durable, beautiful he-man from Massachusetts, Governor Michael Dukakis. Bush also appeared on Newsweek’s support with” Fighting the” Wimp Factor” in bold letters.

President George H. W. Bush did n’t look like a wimp. He was 6-foot-2 and 195 lbs. He was a true combat hero, in other words! But because he was subordinate to the chairman, Newsweek argued, he looked like a wuss. The article quoted a Democratic pollster ( because, of course it did ) named Peter Hart, who sneered,” Fairly or unfairly, voters have a deep-rooted perception of] Bush ] as a guy who takes direction, who’s not a leader”.

A sin president’s greatest advantage to the leader is full, unwavering, absolute loyalty. That’s it. It’s certainly a place for strong, plain-speaking Alphas who yearn to blaze their own route. You’re not the result in the sing, you’re the apprentice. The leader is the sun, at best, you’re a popular experience somewhere in the song. &nbsp,

Kamala Harris is tied to his celebrity because the popular media has been so obstinate with their Kamala Kampaign Koverage. She ca n’t really break with him on major policy. She ca n’t define herself by boldly claiming new, innovative positions. If she does, it’ll come across as Machiavellian and hostile. But if she does n’t, she comes across as what they accused President Bush of being: &nbsp,

    A wuss.

As the Harris wedding runs its course, keep a close eye on Biden’s position in her battle. No, he’s not running for reelection, but he did n’t resign from office, either. He’s also there. ( Probably mumbling to himself while eating ice cream. )

Either manner, this is it for the elderly. When his name is over, but is he! But, whether Kamala Harris likes it or not, Biden may be highly motivated to make the most of the time he has left. Remember, he’s never leaving because he wanted to, he’s leaving because he was forced to. To quote Barack Obama,” Do n’t underestimate Joe’s ability to f—k things up”.
