After Wray told Congress that he was n’t sure whether would-be assassin Thomas Matthew Crooks shot Trump in the ear with a bullet or whether Trump’s ear was hit by shrapnel, former president Donald Trump criticized Federal Bureau of Investigation ( FBI ) director Christopher Wray on Thursday.
During a legislative hearing on Wednesday, the FBI director questioned the nature of Trump’s injuries after the former president was shot during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13.
Wray testified,” I think with respect to former President Trump, there’s some problem about whether or not it’s a gun or debris that, you know, hit his ear”.
In response to Wray’s testimony, Trump released a statement on Truth Social, saying, “FBI Director Christopher Wray told Congress yesterday that he was n’t sure if I was hit by shrapnel, glass, or a bullet ( the FBI never even checked! ), but he knew Crooked Joe Biden was “unfortunately” – Bad” both physically and psychologically.
Trump criticized the FBI author’s performance as the agency’s head, saying that Wray “knows everything” about the criminals and terrorists who enter the country “at unprecedented rates.” Trump suggested that Wray’s only target was raiding his internship at Mar-A-Lago, prosecuting people involved in the January 6 Capitol Hill opposition, and” saving Radical Left Lunatics”.
” No, it was, however, a gun that hit my ears, and hit it hard”, Trump added. ” There was no cup, there was no debris. The doctor described it as a “ball wound to the hearing,” which is exactly what it was. No question the after storied FBI has lost the nation’s trust”!

Wray’s testimony even received pushback from top Republican legislators. During Wednesday’s hearing, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La. ) said,” We’ve all seen the movie, we’ve seen the study, we’ve heard it from various sources in various angles that a gun went through his neck. I’m not convinced it matters that much”.
Johnson cited Johnson’s assertion that the FBI director “was not upcoming with some of the information that we would hope” and that there were “frustrations and concerns” about government entities like the Secret Service and the FBI.
Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-Texas ), a former White House physician, later tweeted,” ABSOLUTELY IRRESPONSIBLE for Chris Wray to make such a statement as Director of the FBI”. According to Jackson, Wray’s evidence was yet another “politically motivated” plot by the same FBI producer who “weaponized his business to devastate President Trump.”
After aggressively suggesting that Trump might not have been hit by a bullet, “what little reliability he may have left is GONE,” Jackson continued. “IT WAS A BULLET — I’VE SEEN THE WOUND”!
