    State gives $1.8 million in grants to 9 Ohio startups

    The Ohio Third Frontier Commission &nbsp, announced Tuesday that it would &nbsp, give out nearly$ 1.8 million &nbsp, in grants to nine startups across the state.

    The income comes from the Technology Validation and Start-up account, and is meant to help promote the industrialization of health, science and defense systems. These are systems that are owned by another establishments, like colleges.

    ” Ohioans are making strides in medical and military progress, and the&nbsp, Department of Development&nbsp, is happy to help them”, said&nbsp, Lydia Mihalik, chairman of the&nbsp, Ohio Department of Development&nbsp, and head of the&nbsp, Ohio Third Frontier Commission. ” The systems we’re funding now have the opportunity to change lives and represent why&nbsp, Ohio&nbsp, is the spirit of development”.

    Only under$ 400, 000 went to two firms in&nbsp, Cuyahoga County.

    Zafer Therapeutics in&nbsp, Pepper Pike&nbsp, was given$ 200, 000 to market a cell-based treatment that is supposed increase the body’s normal anti-inflammatory systems.
