Governor of Pennsylvania Josh Shapiro, apparently one of the front-runners to become Kamala Harris ‘ vice presidential candidate, was accused of covering up sexual abuse by another Democrat running for statewide office.

Erin McClelland, a member for treasurer in Pennsylvania, accused Shapiro of covering up a sexual harassment claim by an aide last month
” I want a VP pick that’s secure enough to be second under a woman, is content to be VP &, wo n’t undermine the president to maneuver his own election &, does n’t sweep sexual harassment under the rug”, McClelland posted on X Friday. I want a candidate who is address remote voters. That is] North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper ]”. Cooper reportedly has a chance of winning the next location.
Information emerged in October that Mike Vereb, who was Mr. Shapiro’s director of parliamentary affairs, made “lewd and cruel remarks against her and that she faced retaliation”, according to the Washington Times.  ,
The lawsuit was settled slowly for$ 295, 000. It was swept under the floor with the regular “non-disclosure” partnerships.
Mike Vereb immediately resigned his cabinet-level position last month after less than nine times on the job, making him Shapiro’s top contact to the General Assembly and one of the president’s closest friends for years. Afterward, according to The Inquirer, Vereb was accused of sexually harassing a worker at the mayor’s office who he briefly worked for in March.
Vereb’s decision to step down came , three days after , Shapiro’s company agreed to pay his defendant to resolve issues she’d filed with the state Office of Equal Employment Opportunity and the independent Human Relations Commission, according to the settlement documents signed Sept. 5 and released Friday through the country’s available data rules.
There was no breach of contract made by Vereb or the governor’s business in the contract. Additionally, the person and some involved from both factors signed a prenuptial agreement that forbids them from publicly discussing her allegations. The Inquirer is not identifying the girl because of the nature of the allegations.

I’m sure the Harris administration is paying close attention to Shapiro’s behavior throughout the entire incident. They’re examining it from the perspective of what Republicans can derive from it. Does Harris really want to deal with the fact that her running mate allegedly covered up sexual harassment in his office for the benefit of an old friend?  ,
McClelland’s accusation has roiled the Pennsylvania Democratic Party.
Democratic Party Chairman Sharif Street said on Wednesday evening,” Look, everybody’s entitled to their opinion” , ,
” But I’ll tell you, I’m offended by the post”, he continued. ” I’m personally offended, and I’ll have conversations with our nominee for treasurer separately”.
McClelland responded,” Someone is offended by a woman with a strong opinion. Color me thunderstruck” . ,
Shapiro’s stellar track record in terms of choosing a school can cause another issue. That’s a no-no for a Democrat running on a national ticket.
McClelland is not alone on the left, though.
She joins 28 anti-school-choice organizations that oppose Shapiro’s candidacy. Cooper was one of the three Democratic governors on the list of the organizations that wrote a letter to Harris asking her to choose one of them as her running mate.
The governor, who served as attorney general of Keystone State from 2017 to 2023, was handily chosen in 2022 to face off against moderate GOP candidate Doug Mastriano.
Shapiro was praised last year for his leadership in the repair of a shattered Interstate 95 bridge in Philadelphia, but he has faced criticism on both sides of the aisle for his work on school choice, albeit for very different reasons.
Republicans are disappointed he caved last summer on the state Senate’s school-choice bill, which he’d backed before that.

Pennsylvania is crucial to Harris ‘ campaign, so Shapiro is at the top of the list. If she wants to have any chance of defeating Donald Trump, she must win it.
Any other flaws Shaprio is carrying are unheard of.
