
A poll conducted by ABC News/Ipsos on July 26 and 27 revealed that US vice-president Kamala Harris ‘ favorability rating among Americans has increased since Joe Biden’s decision to abandon his reelection campaign. Harris ‘ favourability rating rose to 43 % from 35 % a week ago, according to the survey based on a random national sample of 1, 200 US adults.
Findings have a margin of error of 3 percentage items, ABC News added. The study found that 42 % of respondents were unfavourable toward Harris, along from 46 % previously.
Her Republican rival, Donald Trump, saw his favourability rating slide to 36 %, down slightly from 40 % immediately following his attempted assassination. Harris at her Saturday fundraiser said she remained the “underdog” in the race but that her campaign was picking up steam” We are the losers in this race, but this is a people-powered plan and we have momentum”, she said, addressing a group of 800 galas in Massachusetts.
