A new breed of” road girlfriends” is emerging among young people in China as a result of the increasing demands on their jobs and families. According to some young women’s willingness to offer services like hugging, kisses, and companionship without having sex, this trend has become more affordable and accessible.
The” city girl” pattern was first reported by Southern Weekly in April of that year, but it only attracted a small amount of online attention at the time, with fewer than 1, 000 enjoys on Weibo, according to a statement from South China Morning Post.
However, according to NetEase News, the company has just been observed on Shenzhen’s busy roadways, rekindling the debate about the paid companion industry.
In Shenzhen, younger people have been seen selling hugs, kisses, and their business from city booths. ” One yuan ( 14 US cents ) for a hug, 10 yuan for a kiss, 15 yuan to watch a film together”, read a sign next to a subway station. Another sign text reads” 20 yuan ( US$ 2. 8 ) to help with household chores, 40 yuan per hour to drink with you,” and other women set up stalls in a pedestrian street square. Some of these people may be able to make up to 100 renminbi in a single vacation, according to reports.
On mainland cultural advertising, there are a lot of opinions on the street girl pattern. Some see it as a volunteer activity that allows women to pass the time, satisfy interesting people, reduce stress, and socialise. Some, however, believe that putting a value on women’s compassion is rude and undermines their respect, with fears raised about the potential risks to the ladies ‘ protection.
He Bo, a prosecutor from the Sichuan Hongqi Law Firm, expressed concern about the” street girl” service’s lack of a well-defined regulatory framework and its potential conversion to prostitution or sexual services purchases. He suggested that society may encourage young people to engage in regular cultural activities in order to meet their social and emotional demands.
Similar services have been reported in other locations on the mainland, such as Dali Ancient City in Yunnan province, where a young woman was seen offering “one-day lover” services for 600 yuan ( US$ 84 ) a day, including meals together, hugs, and kisses, but excluding sex.
