WASHINGTON: After a year-long legal challenge, Iowa became the latest US state to adopt a near-total abortion ban on Monday, keeping the charged problem of sexual right at the forefront of Nov’s vote. Even though many people do not realize they are expectant at this point, the law forbids terminating almost all babies after six weeks, which is the place when a fetal heartbeat can be detected. Recently, abortion was permitted in the position up to 20 weeks of birth.
The restrictions was put on hold by a judge after it was first passed last year and signed into law by Guv Kim Reynolds, but it was reinstated after an Iowa SC small 4-3 decision last month. The law makes exceptions for rape, incest, and other situations where a newborn’ or mother’s life is in danger.
More than 1.5 million Iowan people woke up this morning with less freedom than they did last night thanks to another Trump Abortion Ban, according to US Vice President Kamala Harris, the rumored Democratic presidential nomination.
