Deep-pocketed nonprofits affiliated with the Democratic Party have a significant place at the plan making table under President Joe Biden because they maintain close communication with the authorities as it works to reshape rules from the Trump era. According to White House guest reports, officials of many of these same organizations have all yet managed to meet with Vice President Kamala Harris.
Harris, then the presumed 2024 Democratic presidential candidate, has hosted the frontrunners for conferences at her private house and different locations, including the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, guest logs show. The tourists include the likes of George Soros’s brother Alex Soros, Stephen B. Heintz of the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, and several heads of liberal groups linked to the Biden-Harris government’s coverage plan.
Democrats are trying to connect Trump to inside organizations on the Right with their own goals to influence policy as they learn about Harris ‘ willingness to amuse the nonprofit minds, who have also attended conferences with Trump and top leaders, such as John Podesta, and who have strong connections to the left-wing policy world. The Biden-turned-Harris strategy has made a rival of the Heritage Foundation’s Project 2025, a partnership of traditional parties making recommendations to a prospective future GOP leadership. Democrats have falsely claimed that Trump’s plan is involved in Project 2025, which the former president just rejected, while federal records show that democratic special interests directly influence Biden and Harris ‘ policy decisions.
” The frantic treatment of Project 2025 reveals the Left’s delusion now for half a era: liberals, and their policy objective, are affirmatively illegal. All organizations on the Left to advance their policy agenda, including efforts very similar to Project 2025, are good, righteous, and just”, said Ryan Williams, president of the Claremont Institute, a think tank involved in Project 2025.
Harris, who is polling an average of roughly 2 percentage points below Trump, has hosted the nonprofit leaders since 2021, visitor logs show.
Heintz and Harris met in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building for a one-on-one meeting in April 2021, according to records, and their Rockefeller family-funded organization is connected to a successful campaign to persuade Biden to halt new liquefied natural gas export terminal approvals. Heinz, subsequently, would head to the White House on at least two more occasions, in July 2021 and September 2022, with the latter being for an event in which Rockefeller Brothers Fund-backed initiatives were “highlighted” by Biden at a summit, according to RBF.
RBF, which sits on over$ 1.3 billion in assets, funded an environmental project called Rewiring America that was linked to the Biden administration’s heavily scrutinized proposal last year to ban gas stoves, tax forms show. Biden’s campaign received donations in 2020 from RBF staffers, while the 2024 Biden-turned-Harris campaign in June pocketed a$ 1, 000 check from an RBF foundation officer, campaign finance records show.
Alex Soros, who recently the-37-year-old-successor-son-to-the-25-billion-george-soros-empire/” target=”_blank” rel=”noopener” title=””>took control of his father’s$ 25 billion empire backing progressive causes, is a frequent visitor to the Biden White House. Visitor logs reveal that Harris hosted the Open Society Foundations chairman and prominent Democratic donors at her private residence in May of last year. Other OSF officials regularly meet with Biden administration officials, and organizations with George Soros-backed philanthropic foundations collaborate in the development of Biden administration policies.
Campaign finance records indicate that George and Alex Soros and other members of the Soros family have given significant sums to bipartisan committees.
Another Harris visitor, Lorella Praeli, is a former top campaign staffer for Hillary Clinton who is now co-president of Community Change. The organization, which Praeli leads, has an affiliate advocacy arm that pressures Democrats to adopt progressive reforms. The advocacy group claims on its website that it “played a crucial role” in passing Biden’s signature Inflation Reduction Act and American Rescue Plan Act provisions.
According to White House visitor logs, Praeli visited the Biden White House almost 20 times between 2021 and 2024. She met with Harris in July 2021 with nine other total people and attended an August 2021 meeting with Biden, Harris, and Latino leaders, according to records.
Darren Walker, who is stepping down as president of the Ford Foundation in 2025, had a one-on-one meeting with Harris in April 2021. He attended an event on the White House South Lawn in April 2022 and, in October 2022, an event at Harris’s private residence, according to White House visitor logs. The Ford Foundation, which has an endowment of$ 16 billion and has long been one of the most influential left-wing grantmakers, partners with the Biden-Harris administration on sweeping federal funding initiatives.
” It’s a matter of public record that Darren has periodically attended events or meetings at the White House”, Amanda Simon, a spokeswoman for the Ford Foundation, told the Washington Examiner.
On the discussions that were uncovered at the meetings, Simon declined to comment. Ford Foundation employees regularly donate to Biden, Harris, and other Democrats. In a press release from July, the White House stated that the Ford Foundation had invested millions of dollars in technology initiatives in addition to other nonprofit organizations.
Manish Bapna of the Natural Resources Defense Council, Maya Wiley of the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, Deborah Archer  of the American Civil Liberties Union, and Daria Dawson of America Votes are other nonprofit leaders who are reportedly in contact with Harris during a visit. According to White House visitor logs, Margaret Huang of the Southern Poverty Law Center was a member of a group that last year visited the vice president’s residence.
She may have RSVPed to invitations, but she did not attend any events, a spokesperson for America Votes wrote over email to the Washington Examiner.
Soros, the “heavyweight” behind the Sixteen Thirty Fund’s dark money, is a target of America Votes, and it was recently mentioned as a participant in a meeting to implement an executive order on voter registration that conservative legal experts call unconstitutional. Representatives from the Soros-backed Open Society Policy Center, the Southern Poverty Law Center, and other left-wing groups were also at the meeting, according to federal documents.
The environmental group regularly meets with “decision-makers at all levels of government,” according to National Resources Defense Council spokesman Josh Mogerman. According to Fox News, the NRDC has a presence in China, and numerous NRDC employees there have previously served as officials for the Chinese government. Bapna, the NRDC president, was part of a large group that visited with Harris in December 2023 at the vice president’s residence, records show, and is listed a total of 15 times in White House visitor logs since October 2021.
We do not discuss those private discussions with government officials, but we do the same to the public about policy options to address the climate crisis, ensure safe drinking water, and otherwise protect the environment and public health, according to Mogerman.
An SPLC spokesperson said the organization frequently meets with elected officials who are “interested in advancing the human rights of all Americans” in a statement to the Washington Examiner.
The Oversight Project for the Heritage Foundation allegedly collaborated with the SPLC to label parents as extremists because they opposed progressive curricula in public schools last year on behalf of a parent rights organization. In a meeting with donors in 2021, Huang, the SPLC president, reportedly claimed that Biden administration officials had been “reaching out to help shape the policies that the new administration is adopting to combat the domestic terrorism threat.”
The SPLC spokesperson referred to Huang’s visit to the White House in 2023 as” We share our research findings and express our opinion to policymakers about groups and organizations that violate Americans ‘ personal freedom and public safety through attacks on particular communities and anti-government behavior.”
