The internet is awash with debate about pictures capturing a touchy-feely time between French President Emmanuel Macron and his activities secretary, Amélie Oudéa-Castéra, during the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics. The photos show the 46-year-old Macron tightly gripping the shoulder of Oudéa-Castéra, even 46 and a former professional volleyball player, who serves as the government’s minister of activities.
In the photo, Oudéa-Castéra reacts to the friendly gesture by holding Macron’s shoulder with one side while the other is draped around his chest while kissing.
The position of Prime Minister Gabriel Attal, who appears to be consciously staring at nothing, only adds to the discomfort of the condition.
” Gabriel Attal, he pretends to seem somewhere! He does n’t know where to stand”! one person commented.
Another said,” It’s my lover that I’m kissing like this. Embarrassing”.
A critical individual expressed,” I find this picture indecent, it’s hardly worthy of a leader and a secretary”.
The interesting picture was brought to the public’s attention by French publication Madame Figaro, which described the love as” unusual” and suggested that Oudéa-Castéra, also known as AOC in France, has a tendency to attract interest to herself.
As the first Olympics in France in a century came to life, Oudéa-Castéra has been at the forefront of the event.
Oudéa-Castéra recently swam in the Seine River to address concerns about the iconic waterway, which will host a number of events in the upcoming Olympics, about elevated E coli levels. However, due to issues with water quality, a pre-race triathlon event that was scheduled for Sunday was postponed.
In January, Macron appointed Oudéa-Castéra as France’s education minister, but she was removed from the position in less than a month. Following allegations that she had enrolled her children in prestigious private schools, she made critical remarks about the local public schools.
Not everyone on X shared the same sentiment, though some users expressed disapproval of the celebratory hug. One user defended the gesture, saying” a slightly warm congratulation to celebrate the moment.”
