You are aware of the strange accents used by the majority of players in vintage films? The “mid-Atlantic” voice of the early 20th century was an attempt to create an Anglo-American edition of the cinema’s” Received Pronunciation” of American English. Actors and actresses mostly avoided trying to imitate real accents because of that contrived dialect’s frequent upper-crust way of speaking in movies. The trouble is that the “mid-Atlantic” dialect did n’t prevent bad accents in movies.

Poor voices in videos or television shows can be distracting. I previously wrote about how Hollywood tends to be lazy when it comes to Southern voices. It’s a tender place for me as well as for lots of other Southerners. But what could be even worse is when Democrats adopt unfavorable Southern voices to appeal to voters.
On Tuesday, Kamala Harris went to Atlanta for a protest. After giving a speech, Megan Thee Stallion performed, which is definitely a sufficient reason not to support Kamala. In one picture, she feigned one of the worst Southern voices whatsoever. You all helped us in 2020, and we go n’t do it again in twenty twenty fouah, said Colin Rugg, who transcribed the speech from X. But hear is believing:
Only IN: VP Kamala Harris unveils her fresh southern voice in Atlanta, Georgia.
” You all helped us in 2020, and we gon’ do it again in twenty twenty fouah”.
Harris even boasted about her immigration-related success.
Any day of… pic, I’ll happily contest his record. twitter.com/pe4yeQlNvJ

Granted, Harris ‘ speech was going to be adored by the market, but why did she think it was necessary to use an accent so terrible that it would cost her Hollywood interviews? In an effort to win over Southerners, a Democrat you turn on the poor accent with the least amount of condescendance.

Flashback:  , Hollywood’s Terrible Southern Accent Syndrome
Kamala is n’t the first Democrat to go this route, and I’m sure she wo n’t be the last. Hillary Clinton made a false dark patois on one appearance on the campaign trail in Selma, Alabama in 2007, and we’ll never forget that.
Clinton quoted the metaphysical” I Do n’t Think Noways Exhausted,” which was good on its own. However, she twanged it up unconvincingly, which is odd given how frequently she was the first woman of Arkansas when she was second girl.
 Â
Hillary ran in 2016 and reverted to her bogus Southern robe. She’s not the only Democrat to try to appear dark, sometimes. Rep. Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez (D-N. Y. ) faced condemnation for speaking to black citizens while using a “blaccent” slang. Throughout his profession, Barack Obama has tried phony Southern voices and inflated black accents.
The left, on the other hand, accuses real Southerners who are liberal of using false voices when they speak. Sen. John Kennedy (R-La. ) has been attacked by members of the media. and Gov. Brian Kemp (R-Ga. ) for faking their accents, just to name two examples.
Why do Democrats believe they must behave similarly toward Southerners? It’s hard to imagine someone saying”, She talks like me for 30 hours. I may support her. Democrat citizens who have already made their decisions are excluded.  ,

Consider it from a Southerner: these false, pandering accents that Democrats apply to score low social points are greatly offensive. Getting cute and copping fake accents wo n’t help if you ca n’t persuade people to vote for you based on the merits of your positions. None of these Democrats may talk to me, I promise.
