In connection with leading a significant drug trafficking operation that used sailboats to transport cocaine from South America to Europe, a Norwegian man known as” The Professor” has been detained in Bogota, Colombia. Pazooki Farhad, who reportedly headed the nation’s largest “narco boat” system, was detained at El Dorado Airport, according to Colombian officers on Tuesday, as per CBS information.
His alleged accomplice, Bernsten Bjarte, was captured in Barranquilla, a southern city on Colombia’s Caribbean beach.
Farhad had been the subject of numerous global agencies ‘ investigation, according to Colombian officials. They made it known that he had connections to Colombia’s largest syndicate, the famous Clan del Golfo. Also, Farhad was connected to important Mexican organizations, including Sinaloa and Jalisco Nueva Generacion.
A movie released by the Bogotá president’s office showed Farhad in prison, identifying his part in the broad smuggling operation. 50 people linked to Farhad had earlier been arrested in Spain and seven different countries according to previous reports from Spanish police. Eight boats used for drug trafficking were also recovered as a result of the activity. Farhad had worked closely with the drug industry for more than 20 years and helped to win Colombian and Mexican drug cartels ‘ full trust through the coordination of significant cocaine shipments, according to Europol. His record follows carefully on the feet of another high-profile medicine trafficker’s extradition. The” Pirate of the Unfamiliar” was extradited from Italy to New York City earlier this week by US government. According to CBS News, this person is accused of being a part of a global drug band that allegedly transported large quantities of methamphetamine internationally.
