Video: Mass surveillance plan revealed by UK prime minister

Major privacy concerns were raised by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s announcement on Thursday that the fresh National Violent Disorder Program would enable law enforcement to use visual recognition and mass surveillance to deter rising crime in the country.

The American prime minister’s news came after Starmer met with police leaders regarding the administration’s plan to “work with law enforcement officials to mark out the aggressive problem seen in current days,” according to a press release on Thursday.

According to a report from ABC News, a 17-year-old think killed three girls and stabbed ten others, sparking widespread protests in the United Kingdom.

Starmer stated in a video released by Big Brother Watch, a nonprofit that works to advance civil liberties and protects privacy.” I can announce today that we will establish a national ability across police forces to tackle harsh disorder,”

Starmer claimed that the” thugs” committing violence in the United Kingdom are “mobile” and are able to move from community to community. In reply, he argued that the nation “must have a police response that can do the same.”

The British prime minister announced plans to increase shared knowledge and “wider implementation of facial recognition systems” to combat rising problem.

” PM announces strategy for increased usage of Orwellian physical recognition”, Big Brother Watch tweeted in response to the prime minister’s statement. The disturbing promise to implement facial recognition in response to new problem is a pledge to pillage more police resources into mass surveillance that neither advances democracy nor defends it.

The producer of Big Brother Watch, Silkie Carlo, warned of the possible repercussions of the prime minister’s statement in a media transfer, claiming that” this AI security turns people into walking ID cards” is dangerously false and has no clear constitutional basis in the UK.

Carlo claimed that while the prime minister’s announcement for facial recognition was widely used in nations like Russia and China, life physical reputation was “banned in Europe.”

The lack of action by Starmer to combat the” hooliganism” that has plagued the UK for the past year was “deeply caring,” according to the Big Brother Watch producer.

Carlo came to the conclusion that “promiseing the country inefficient AI surveillance in these circumstances was tone-deaf and will give the public no assurance that this government has the capacity to fight these crimes and defend the people.”
