Afghan individuals must own documents and visas before entering Pakistan on August 1 to enter the country through the Torkham border cross.
Torkham, a crucial trade route between Pakistan and Taliban-ruled Afghanistan, had been reopened by Pakistan in January after a 10-day closing prompted by Islamabad’s imposing passport and visa demands on Afghan vehicles.
Pakistan first set a compliance deadline of April 1, subsequently extended it until August 1.
As Pakistan accused the Taliban of allowing extremists to launch attacks across Afghan soil, the Taliban’s proceed to impose visa and passports, which some Afghans do not possess, came as Pakistan demanded that the country’s leaders impose these documents.  ,
