Thousands of Afghans brought to UK in secret operation

    The&nbsp, UK&nbsp, has quietly brought more than 5, 000 Afghans to&nbsp, Britain&nbsp, since past October, The&nbsp, Times&nbsp, reported.

Dubbed Operation Lazurite, the goal involved moving past military officers, knowledge resources and their households out of&nbsp, Afghanistan&nbsp, and offering them lodging at military sites across the&nbsp, UK. 150 Afghans who worked straight for the intelligence companies were among those who were evacuated.

The past Conservative government hushed up the number of moved people, according to a Whitehall source who spoke to The&nbsp, Times&nbsp.

Around 4, 000 of those moved to the&nbsp, UK&nbsp, were stuck in motels in&nbsp, Pakistan&nbsp, paid for by&nbsp, London, with another 1, 000 having to travel to&nbsp, Pakistan&nbsp, on documents issued by the&nbsp, Taliban&nbsp, immediately after the operation began.

Many of those who reached the&nbsp, UK&nbsp, left their homeland because of&nbsp, Taliban&nbsp, challenges against them.

They joined the almost 27, 000 Afghans who had already been brought to the&nbsp, UK&nbsp, after the&nbsp, Taliban&nbsp, acquisition in&nbsp, August 2021&nbsp, following the withdrawal of US-led coalition forces earlier that month.

According to the Whitehall resource, 700 homes have already been allocated to evacuees, and safety checks are being carried out right away.
