Due to the ongoing unrest in Bangladesh, the Eastern Railway announced that the Kolkata-Dhaka-Kolkata Maitree Express ‘ companies would be canceled on Wednesday. The adjacent country plunged into doubt after protests led to the resignation of the region’s prime minister, Sheikh Hasina, on Monday.
The ER stated on Tuesday that Maitree Express’s companies, which have been suspended since July 19, may continue on Wednesday, citing a text from Bangladesh Railways.
Since July 21, Kolkata-Khulna-Kolkata Bandhan Express has been suspended as well.
