
Following prime minister Sheikh Hasina’s withdrawal and countrywide escape amid violent demonstrations over a contentious work quota system, Bangladesh conducted a significant change in its highest military jobs on Tuesday.
Maj Gen Ziaul Ahsan, head of the national communications tracking heart (NTMC), has been removed from service.
The Dhaka Tribune reported this development, referencing a press release from the Inter-Services Public Relations Department ( ISPR )- the Army’s media wing.
- Lt. Gen. Md Saiful Alam’s position has been renamed foreign government.
- Lt. Gen. Md. Mojibur Rahman has been appointed as the general officer commanding ( GOC ) for the army’s doctrine command.
- Lt. Gen. Ahmad Tabrez Shams Chowdhury has been appointed the Army’s Quartermaster General.
- Lt. Gen. Mizanur Rahman Shamim has been appointed the army’s key standard.
- National Defense College (NC ) commander Lt. Gen Mohammad Shahinul Haque has been chosen.
- The NTMC’s producer general has been replaced by Major General ASM Ridwanur Rahman.
