Tim Walz, Kamala Harris ‘ running mate, is accused of letting Minnesota burn in the 2020 George Floyd riots. A video of his wife Gwen Walz talking about the Black Lives Matter protest has gone viral, with the Republicans calling the entire family” sick” now that his name has been announced as Kamala Harris ‘ running mate in the November election.
” I do state… those initial days when there were protests… In the now-distributed videos, Gwen Walz may be heard saying,” I could smell the smoldering tires… that was a very real factor. And I kept the windows open as long as I was that I felt that was like a foundation of what was happening.”
Tim Walz delayed sending the National Guard to take control of the situation by three weeks, allowing the town to fire as rallies grew following George Floyd’s death by the death of the Minneapolis Police. The government defended the decision, claiming that the presidency had done everything in its power.
A 2020 Minnesota Senate statement on the protests, which was released while Republicans held control of the room, stated that” Governor Walz had the ability and work to apply force and law enforcement to prevent criminal crime.” Because he was debating whether to use force to stop murder,” Governor Walz was not prepared to do what was necessary to stop the violence right ahead.”
Gwen Walz is the first woman of Minnesota, a professor like Tim was before entering politics. Gwen has taught in common, other and migrant institutions, as well as prison. She and Tim were both training at a Nebraska class. In 1994, they wed. Gwen was born in Glencoe, Minnesota, and grew up in the western part of the state. Both her parents were teachers and small-business entrepreneurs. Both Minnesota State University and Gustavus Adolphus College were Walz’s places of study.
