Following the resignation of Bangladesh’s prime minister Sheikh Hasina amid months of civil unrest and protests, Pakistan on Wednesday expressed its cooperation with its citizens.
We are convinced that the resilient spirit and unwavering resolve of the Bangladeshi persons may lead to a peaceful potential, according to the foreign ministry of Pakistan, the nation from which Bangladesh gained its independence in 1971.
Student organizations in Bangladesh were the cause of the violence that at least 150 livelihoods and wounded thousands of people who were injured while protesting reserved quotas in government jobs. A high court’s decision to reinstate a 30 % work limit for heirs of freedom fighters led to the turmoil.
Hasina resigned and sought refuge in India after widespread demonstrations and hostility. Her resignation marked the end of her 15-year second term in power in the region of 170 million, which has been dealing with financial hardship in recent years, as crowds stormed into her official house unopposed after she left.
Later on Tuesday, Bangladesh’s leader appointed Yunus as the brain of the interim government. The leader stressed the need to bring the government’s remaining members to a conclusion soon in a statement released by his company.
