Community Note on X Exposes The Guardian’s Hypocrisy Regarding ‘Two-Tier Policing’ in the UK

Since Elon Musk took over Snapchat and transformed it into Community Notes, one of X’s most useful and interesting characteristics is. The characteristic frequently serves as a way to keep users and media outlets responsible for their content, often with a dash of invective. Granted, it does n’t work sometimes, but Community Notes has been useful and often fun.

The Guardian, the UK’s most extreme media store, is the most recent instance of Community Notes saving the day. The Guardian’s funding appeals typically use radical dog-whistle language at the end of articles, making it clear that it is of the left. One new fundraising ball self-righteously declared,” And we avoid the trap that befalls many U. S. press: the desire, born of a desire to please all factors, to engage in false equality in the name of neutrality”.

On a new X article about the UK’s recent upheaval, Community Notes criticized it. For some perspective about what’s going on, protests are breaking out all over Britain. At issue is what some are calling the UK’s” two-tier policing”, in which Muslim criminals, often immigrants, getting a kid-glove care from officers compared to local Britons, mainly conservatives.

On Tuesday, The Guardian published an article with a connection to it on X. The article claims that the idea of” two-tier policing” is a “far-right myth”.

England protests: how has’ two-tier police’ myth become popular? https ://t.co/foSX9epFLd— The Guardian ( @guardian ) August 6, 2024

Troublemakers and proponents of the violence have attempted to spread a destructive story: that white far-right “protesters” are subjects of a” two-tier policing” system that treats them more harshly because of their culture and political views, according to reports from Archie Bland and Vikram Dodd. The reporters quote Nigel Farage, who said, “ever since the soft policing of the Black Lives Matter protests, the impression of two-tier policing has become widespread”.

Enter Community Notes. A user added a note with links to other articles from The Guardian, the note states,” The Guardian have ]sic ] been telling people about two-tier policing based on race and sexuality for decades”.

Let’s explore what The Guardian has had to say about” two-tier policing”. One article from last year included a video that explored a recent report decrying the “institutional misogyny, racism, and homophobia]that ] persists within the Met, Britain’s biggest police force”.

Another link redirected readers to a December 2023 article that once more claimed UK police officers were innately bigots. The report stated that “police are far more likely to use a Taser electrical weapon against black people because it is more likely than not to be based on individual officers ‘ opinions,” adding that” comunities view its use as humiliating and traumatizing, and the report, which was funded by the police, calls for radical training reforms.”

Finally, a report from January features Gavin Stephens, the head of Britain’s National Police Chiefs ‘ Council, who also stated that “black people should no longer experience disproportionate use of force, and that too little progress had been made had been made in reform policing, with some leaders slow to accept the size of the challenge.” Dodd added in his report that British police forces have faced “institutional racism” for 30 years.

What we’ve seen is that The Guardian is totally fine with promoting the concept of” two-tier policing” when doing so benefits a left-wing narrative. If conservatives bring up the idea, it’s a “myth”. Thanks to Community Notes, we can see The Guardian’s hypocrisy on full display.
